A man with a big heart, a warrior and a conqueror who has lived a life of major challenges and pitfalls but nothing is too hard for James Brown when he’s wearing the armor of GOD.
On August 15, 1992, James Brown was shot in the neck and robbed, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down and in a wheelchair. Rather than lying in bed feeling sorry for himself he decided to make a difference not only in his life but in the lives of others. On September 11, 2001 he founded the James Brown Youth Empowerment Organization (JBYEO) a 501 c3 non-profit organization.
This charitable organization, has been a powerhouse of change and now has set their sights on a social issue affecting everyone in the country.

Here is James Brown with his mentor, motivational speaker Les Brown.
His words brought life to my mind, while my body lay paralyzed. His words... saying, you aint' gotta be someone to start something, but you gotta start something to be someone.... empowered me to begin James Brown Youth Empowerment.
This book should be given as a gift to anyone who faces what seem to be insurmountable odds. There is hope, and James shows us that. - Johnny Wimbrey, Author and Master Motivator.
From a life of challenges to finally finding the Lord, James’ story is a very interesting read. His story proves that life is not so much what happens to you but more what you do with it. - James Shepherd, President, Shepherd Spinal Center.
As a college professor, I am aware of some of the daily struggles that young adults face. Therefore, this book will definitely speak to them about life’s choices and consequences. I am positive that if they read the stories, they will be able to avoid the troubles that James faced. I read the book in two days because of the gripping stories. I could hardly put it down! - Merlene J. Purkiss, Professor, Miami Dade College.
I couldn’t stop reading this book once I started it. Something that I read in two days has helped to change my life. I stopped being disrespectful to my mom after learning that I shouldn’t take anything for granted. - Tiffany Turner, Student, Harry S. Truman High School.

Supportive data/information verifying the need for our program.
Nationwide, more than a million jobs for youth have been lost since 1999. Since 2000, the number of youth who are both unemployed and not in school has gone up by 12 percent nationwide, totaling an approximate 600,000 increase in out-of-school, unemployed youth. Youth have been disproportionately impacted by the downturn in the national economy. In the last year and a half, young adults (ages 16-24) represented 53% of the total job losses among all U.S. adults despite the fact that they represent only 15% of the working population.
